The Inner Voice to Let Things Be
Teeing the goal is fantastic. However, only seeing is not enough in the modern world. Given the need to have what we want, our actions have significant implications for the outcomes we receive.
As such, the urge to let things slide sometimes becomes so appealing. There are negative implications for our well-being, affecting how we deal with life.
Sprint; Give Excuses Dust
Getting things done is essential, and when the situation becomes challenging, instead of creating excuses that will hinder the subsequent task or duty accomplishment, finding an amicable way to deal with the problem is essential.
Grinding and eventually realizing our dreams requires actions, and when excuses come into the picture, there is a negative outcome that will befall us. Hence, instead of sabotaging your dreams through consistent minor and sometimes even larger excuses, deciding to do your best is crucial to succeeding.
Do or Do Not. There is No Try
If you are familiar with the Start Wars opera, then the phrase above by Yoda comes to mind. As well live each day, there are options that we have, and what we do upon being faced with those options has significant implications on our lives.
As noted by Yoda, if the possibility of doing something becomes less appealing, there is no need even to try to do it. Only one option makes sense given the determination that one holds: DO.
When faced with a task at school, at work on assigned projects, or on a leadership level, there is the need to deliver, as is the case with politicians.
No matter the actions one takes in the process, the world is more focused and interested in seeing what is delivered. Hence, irrespective of their personal view of themselves, performance on a specific role or task is what counts in most aspects of the modern world.
Performance-Based World: Everyone is Replaceable
There is always a gamble on a personal level, and if one does not do their best, they will miss their goals.
And on a community level, others seek the same opportunity, so if there is weakness in meeting the self/personal goals or assigned roles, one risks lagging. And guess what, with the millions of persons capable of doing the same thing, one is bound to be replaced if no results are seen.
As long as the sun keeps shining, giving your best while not hurting others is crucial. We live with others who exhibit significant goals in their domain in our daily lives. Therefore, with the determination and the depreciation of any excuses, we have the opportunity to improve our personal lives and that of others in our community.
Excuses change nothing but make everyone feel better"
Mason Cooley Source One should not just do their best due to the fear of being replaced or sidelines. One needs to follow their heart and focus on accomplishing their purpose. Doing all these things and others boils down to putting excuses aside and working hard and smart.
Having the determination to deliver no matter what arises helps create credibility, making one reliable. Performance is what counts, and excuses can affect the realization of better performance.
Solution: Study Thyself for the Root Cause
Everything has its cause and things that contribute to its emergence or onset. In the same way, if one realizes that one tends to make many excuses, taking time to evaluate one's life is essential in pinning down the main culprit.
There is a need to take time and explicitly analyze each aspect of life personally. Through this process, one can successfully gather helpful information about themselves and define the leading cause of the endless excuses.
If fear causes excuses, finding a way to deal with it and gain confidence is necessary. And if a lack of skills on a specific task causes excuses to pursue it, taking time to learn, ask for help and improve daily can be essential.
It is vital to understand that "There is always an option or an alternative to everything" in all these cases. The choice boils down to what we do and accept to do.
The same goes on an organizational level. When facing demanding project goals and there are weaknesses in teams towards performance, getting to the root cause of the problem is helpful.
As opposed to waiting until project completion, timely evaluation of the team and getting their views on the pressing issues can be essential for the project managers and leaders.
As an effective leader, monitoring and evaluating the team will help support their success. And this starts with understanding the team and the reason for less performance, which can be attributed to excuses among team members.
